Why is Henry such a jerk?
I don't mind playing a specific character, but I wish I had more ability to get him to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up, instead of inciting local ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lords. It definitely takes away a lot of my agency to have the character I'm playing act like a jerk, in a situation where I know that's a bad idea. I know his whole life's been shattered, but can he just mourn in silence for a bit, rather than barking at the nobility?

You'll work with his skills and stats and develope him into a charactor you want and you will enjoy it so much once you played him for a few hundred hours.

That's correct a deadly peasant!

I do agree that some of the forced dialogue options are unfortunate - but i have accepted most of these as immutable parts of Henry's character and thus i've chosen to weave them in to my perspective of who he is.

For example, IMO the fact that one of his "best friends" from Skalitz is a total scam artist is rather unfortunate. If you don't "go along" with Matthew, then you can never get to a certain sidequest that helps you with From the Ashes DLC.

So, now i play Henry as a Rogue himself, so in most playthroughs he's now part thief, scam artist, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, so, more like a real person than some fantasy hero.

Being a Peasant and Serf to the Nobility matters, since they own nothing (it's a very different perspective). Also, during the tutorial, it's clear to me that Henry is spoiled, and clearly right at that age where he thinks he knows better than his parents. Of course he has trouble with authority.

So now, i actually find Henry to be abit of a whiny b*tch

Why should he though? He is already favored by the nobility , so he doesn't have to watch his mouth around them.

He may suffer from a mild schizoid disorder, as well.

Doesn't every RPG character. :)

Henry the blacksmith was obviously a mid 20 year old frustrated virgin. He just needed to get some. Once he does the wild thing later his charisma goes up and becomes more friendly

That's kinda just part of Henry's character. You shape his actions to a large extent, but he's not a player-created character by any means. He's a moody teenager who just had his world collapse around him, so he's not the best at socializing at the start of the game. As you progress Henry becomes more mature, wise, and experienced, and it shows in the dialogue later on.

It´s true, he indeed acts like a jerk and that is one thing I dislike in this game.

English speakers won´t notice that, since you mosty just use "you" as a personal pronoun, but if you play the game in German you will notice it all the time, since Henry/Heinrich dares to say "Du" to the nobilities, which would have been a huge insult.

In Bohemia (Böhmen) at that time German and Czech were spoken at the same time, which is why I find it a bit disappointing that they didn´t get this detail right in the German version/translation.
Funnily though the undertitles are correct, it seems like the speaker of the German voice just didn´t care about this, even though it is a very important detail.

In these times as a peasant or ordinary civilian you had to speak to the nobility in what we call "dritte person"/plural), so you had to say "Ihr" or "Euch" instead of "Du/Dir/Dich" ect.

If you were lucky they would have just thrown you into jail for such an insult or put you on the pillory. They could even have killed you for such a procacity.

Next thing is, he calls his dog "Köter" and this is a very negatively connotated word for a dog.
Noone who likes his dog would call it this way. There are like a thousand good names for dogs in German and they chose "Köter", which is one of the worst and insulting ones.

Henry is son of a blacksmith. The next generation who will be groomed to learn from his pops.

Am sure swordsmith was highly valued at the time period. I'd be kissing a blacksmiths butt too...they were probably few in numbers and high in demand

Probably took days to craft a single sword

And no, I wouldn't categorize a Smith as an ordinary peasant...

Despite the looks he's in late teens - 17-19

Sure, all medieval people were psychopaths. ESPECIALLY the nobility. Well known scientific fact.

Anyway Henry's no ordinary peasant. His family is already in friends with nobility and lives in castle inner yard. This you can notice right from the start, and later on you discover even more about Henry's uncommon origins.
Otherwise he would end up begging in Rattay.

You are wrong. It has something to do with status. If you would have said "Du" to someone like Sir Hanush for example you would basically put him on the same level as you are, a peasant..and that would be a huge insult.

Are you German? If not, don´t tell me how our language works and was used. I know it better.

You can say Du to your best friend, your mother or father but not to a noble one in that period of time. It also has nothing to do with them being psychopaths, it´s just that you needed to be punished for such an insult or people would have lost their respects for them.

And punishments were brutal at that time.

Furthermore, Henry is NOT a noble one. He is a bastard son. Worth nothing. In reality he would have been an embarassment for Sir Radzyk.

This part of the story is not very realistic.
