Dogs ruin the stealth experience
Last time i played there were never any dogs and i feel that putting them in have kinda ruined the stealth approach when going into enemy camps. I'm waiting for night now to see if the dogs also sleep so i can poison the food.

Nop! The dogs do not sleep! Great, so sneaking into camps is pointless now... gj devs

If you drop them some meat, they’ll be quite for a little bit. I haven’t tried poisoning meat.

Or put an arrow in their face. If you like killing dogs. Or make a concoction that will put them to sleep, just remember some meat. Endless possibilities.

arrow in face causes alerts.... sigh....

Just hit them to kill them while you are unknown and flee and skip some time because NPC dogs do not respawn.

You might have NPCs huddling over it's body and whining about a corpse for a while though.

If you don't mind jail, kill a dog and purposely get arrested and put in jail, you will wait it out but basically the dog is dead and you don't get that much hate on you.

You can also poison the meat and then drop it, they'll die eventually.

Bah - too much work - just kill them all to begin with.

You can still Stealth Kill the Sentries - most Camps have 1 or 2 sentries that roam about - and they should be your first target anyway. And i can usually manage to get the dog to come out and play before the camp is too alert - and the dog drops with a simple a shot.

And pulling far enough away will drop aggro, and then let you do as you choose.

But again - too much work for me...

As others have mentioned, you can get the dog to chase you without actually waking up the camp!
Doesn't Aesop potion work? One of its two functions is to make dogs stop giving you away.

Sounds like excuses, i think dogs are not good for stealth. If you have to get dogs to chase you, that is not stealth lol

I just feel like the dogs are lacking a bit of realism to their reactions. They are a bit too honed in on the player, and only the player, while having no reaction to their environment.

I saw a rabbit, run strait across a dog's paws right thru the middle of the camp, and it broke all immersion for me. I don't care how well trained a dog is, it would be going after that rabbit, or at least be somewhat distracted. (also, the rabbit, maybe should not want to do that to start with.)

I feel like the dogs work fine in town, but outside of town on camps, the lack of reaction to wildlife, feels a bit off, at least in certain areas and certain smaller in the wood camps.
