When does the game pick up?
I've played the first 3-4 hours of the game, and so far the main thing i've been doing is pressing W to get to where i need to and struggling to find any interesting side missions whilst traveling to the next place. When does the game start to pick up?

from the start really picks up. maybe is not your cup of tea?

the wonders of this game is taking your time enjoy the story it may not be a refreshing or nothing ever seen plot but is done nicely, nice voice acting and can be sometimes immersive.

so grab couple beers or whatever you like enjoy this movie.

Its a lot of cut scenes, if you are not into it within the first few hours then you never will be. I'd advise anyone getting this game during a sale to skip the cutscenes to see if you'll even like the gameplay, cause it was terrible to me, and return it before you've put 2 hours into it if you're not digging it.
at first, it was awesome. really interesting fighting system, cut scenes, but then I bored to death. side quests are bland, villages too. moreover, playing in hardcore mode you can't use fast travel. I thought it would be cool and realistic, but it turned out deadly tedious.

Just ditched it. Regret about so many hours spent (with so little fun). It's awesome that there're alternatives to TES, but… 6 years, really?

If you play the game to go from combat to combat it really isn't your type of game. I find most of the game to not actually be combat. They are rather heavy on talking, and figuring things out for yourself. Like figuring out in how many ways you can deal with the quest to get the money for the coal. In my recent totally honest and noble game I never got the tools back from Kunesh and skipped him. Never got into a fight. The only thing I stolen was a cobweb by mistake, and the goblet which I gave back as soon as I was able.

To enjoy this game you need to think like a person living in those days do, not as a player playing a game.

I'd say give it another 3-4 hours. Its a medium sized game 30-50 hours. If you dont find anything interesting after the first few missions after the raid then i think it's probably not for you. To me, the game is a standard action rpg, the pacing/story is pretty standard so treat it as such.

P.s. 4 hours isn't long enough to get invested in the game and to properly understand the mechanics of the game.
