Good luck! The game can be fantastic when it works, which it occasionally does!
I'm pretty sure there is no bug. You just aren't looking at the right place.
Are you sure you're in the right place? Exactly what quest are you on and what town are you in?
I've been describing how to get the plot moving again after you first get to Rattay and report to Sir Radzig in the Pirkstein castle. Are you sure you aren't in Talmberg?
You seem to be beyond that, but it would be nice if you told us exactly where in the plot you are.
In the upper castle the dining room is in the middle of the building. Go to the door on what a European would call the first floor but an American would call the second. The cut scene should trigger when you go through the door. Go through it gently, the program is indeed finnicky.
You might want to validate the integrity of your installation (done by going to your game library, right clicking on KCD to call up a menu, clicking on properties, going to the local files tab). Something might not be firing because a file got corrupted.
