Fast Travel Bug - Only 4 hours in

Hi,

Just bought this game - only 4 hours in, and I am already experiencing a frustrating issue. I am in Rattay right now, and I just accepted the quest "Scavenger". On my first attempt to fast travel back to the starting area, it worked and I was encountered by Bandits. Unfortunately I died during that encounter and re-loaded. On all subsequent attempts to fast travel back, the large map disappears and I am presented with a black screen with the radar map moving as if I am fast traveling. However, at the end of the black screen, I get spawned but am not able to move.

Even loading to an earlier save automatically puts me in the "black screen fast travel" state. I have to exit the game entirely and continue, but fast travel still refuses to work. Thoughts?

UH HUH...Holidays make a HUGE Load on Downloading....most likely you get some Currupted filles from this...Easiest way to find out if this happened while getting a cup of Coffee is to VERIFY your games on steam.
ANY KIND of Steam game "Verify" it to insure it is not missing files as Follows;
Verify the game...it MAY HAVE downloaded In-correctly and is Missing files
(words written below in ( Brackets) mean "Do this action",)
THIS is part of Steam Function to FIX all non functioning games;
go to the game Library in STEAM
Select
(any game you have on steam)
(right click on it)
OPEN
Local Files
(scroll down to find)
VERIFY,
(click on it and let it run)
DONE!
99.9% chance in my mind that the game will start/run after this
Suggest to CLOSE steam after if Verifies all files
then restart steam and the KCD game
If your still stuck, Find "RICK" on a Pinned Post, he's a KCD Dev, and Reacts quickly to "STUCK" people on his posts!

I just got this bug 2 years later, I think it's a bug, most head straight to sir radzig when waking up at the mill but ideiced to build up my stealth character first by helping the millers. everytime i entered through the main gate at rattay it would glitch and the screen would flicker black as if the guard was about to speak to me again. So I think the bug is related to that.

4 years later and I can confirm the exact same issue... Likeminds! Hung around, did some quests for the Miller, going past the guard at the main gate in Rattay causes the brief black flicker you mention. Attempting to fast travel introduces the bug YOGI experienced 6 years ago. I assume we are in the minority, though a shame this occurred in this otherwise bug-free 7 hour gaming session!
