Did anyone else not help Theresa?
I remember her saying thanks for helping her out from the rapists, but I sooo totally didn't.

I ran straight to the horse and fled like a coward. I heard her screaming and just thought, damn she was really cute, I wish I knew how to fight so I could help her...

I helped her the first time and got slaughtered. Was playing on hardcore and didn't realize I didn't have a save yet...it was bad.

I missed it on my first playthrough. Was too panicked from dying twice to the cuman that spawns behind you to notice it.

It doesn't really matter either way. Just maybe a point or two in speech and maybe she likes you better.

That's exactly what I did. I tried fighting the cumans and I killed an archer tried to steal his gear, then got swarmed by 4 of them. Died.

Then I tried killing the one that spawns right next to you, died several more times.

The last time I fled straight down the hill and ran to the horse as fast as I could.

What a great intro though. Very humbling and really emphasizes how weak you are.

When you pass the enemy to get to your horse you distracted her attackers who start to chase you and that is how you "save" her.

No, this is possible to pass them unnoticed.
Didn't help her on purpose in my 'evil' playthrough. I remember she had a specific dialogue about how she escaped on her own. Something about grabbing a dagger from one of the cumans, stabbing them and running away.
In my 1st playthrough, I took a few seconds to estimate the distance to the horse, poked one of them and ran away. It was kinda obvious that this is the right decision, why you people try to actually fight them lmao.
Later I found out that I could just whistle to distract them.

Considering how strong the Cumans are I thought it'd be foolish to try and help, as I assumed the only way was to fight them.

Then at the mill she insinuated it was possible to help her, then I restarted the game because I fellt bad :(

I whistled to the horse. Horse did not come, but the soldiers all came running towards me instead.

I never even know you wasn't able to save her on my first games. I always distracted them by whisling for a horse to come to me.

Tough luck, Therese, See Ya! ...as I gallop off away from the Cumans.
No, I was not a noble knight that day

Both times I did "Run!" I just punched the one closest in the head and then took off running again. Got poked a few times, but was able to escape. First time I died it was because I rode my horse into a ditch and got myself stuck. Pounded to death just like that.

Second attempt, did the same - punched the closest one in the back of the head, then fled. No problem other than the 2 or 3 pokes and blows I took running to the horse.

I don't think you have to actually save her though - she appears later, so she survives with or without your help.

First time I did not even know I can save her.
Once I know, it is hard to just ride past her.

I haven't played this part in a while, but I think you don't even have to go inside the fence to save Theresa (i.e. no physical contact with the Cumans). Which means that if you don't have two left feet you should be able to steal a horse before the Cumans slice you up. But that's when the fun begins, because neither you nor Henry know how to ride a horse in this game, and you'll have to learn on the fly. Good luck dodging arrows...
