I must be missing something simple.
Quest got passed anyway, but I would like to know anyway.
Direction keys only move Henry.
Best practice is to press & hold your attack key, then change angle of attack & release to launch the attack. If timed right & the enemy isn't guarding that angle you'll have better chance of landing a strike.
Do the training with Captain Bernard. He explains all.
Got it, will try.
When you're locked into combat with a target you'll see the crosshair become a gold 5-point star. Moving the mouse will turn one of the points red & that's your angle of attack.
You have to be "locked on" to an enemy though. Normally that happens automatically but you'll want to familiarise yourself with the key to switch lock between targets.
Have one direction marked on the 5 point star, then switch to opposite and THEN press left mouse to attack.
Attacking in the instant he changes guard from the direction he has just vacated is a valid IRL fencing technique though, but isn't a feint.
To clarify, a feint is where you make your oponent anticipate a strike from one side, then strike him from the other. In boxing it's called a rope-a-dope. Most sports have their own name for it.
When you depress the mouse button, the side of the star highlighted in red is the side your enemy will *expect* the attack to come from. You then move the mouse & release the button to attack from the other side.
To make a successful feint you first need to unlock the ability by training with Captain Bernard.
