You see him briefly at Runts bandit camp while spying (at least if you visit the upper camp) , but other than that, not a peep.
My bet, creators just typo'd it, as a hint of saying "yes, you get to chop that bold head off in sequel...one day."
Markvart of Úlice was a real person who actually lived in the late 1300s to early 1400s he died at the very tail end of 1402. He honestly wasn't as important in life as he seems to be in the game, not even serving as a leader of his army for a full year before he managed to get killed by a stray arrow in the siege of Suchdol, which I believe is a major plot point in the sequel.
So there are two options. Either they moved all of these events back a year for some reason, decided to change these things for some reason, or the game actually takes place in 1402 and everything else saying 1403 is simply wrong
It's an interesting topic. Why not just make a new one?
A screenshot of codex of KCD2 literally says this.
"He was the Hetman or Governor of Prague, who, much like those members of the nobility disgruntled with the reign of Wenceslas IV, saw in Sigismund of Luxembourg a better potential King.
His motivation, however, had more to do with money and power he saw no future gains from Wenceslas, whereas aiding Sigismund promised better prospects. Therefore, it was not difficult for him to switch sides and in 1402, at the call of King Sigismund, he joined the siege of Kuttenberg as the leader of the Prague troops.
It was here that he was killed by an arrow after just a few days. For our purposes, we decided to delay his departure to the other world a little longer."
He is quite literally alive just because of the story of KCD.
Well, at least they officially addressed this in some capacity. With that, I'll mark this 6+ year old thread as answered lol, appreciate the closure on this!
The game tries to be historically accurate, but not to every letter. Aulitz did die during the siege of Kuttenberg, but he was left alive for story reasons as he is being set up as a main antagonist fpr KCD2.
