Hare Hunt mission bugged?

So I am supposed to "explore the clearing where it all went on" and found the clearing but the only thing I can do there is sit on a log and wonder why I am wasting my time doing these stupid side quests before continuing the story. What am I supposed to do here?

To find digging spot as far as I remember. And to not assume it's a bug every time you have issues with something.
I think this objective won't lead you anywhere anyway, it only gives a clue. There are multiple intertwining paths to complete this quest. And don't just follow quest markers blindly

The Hair Hunt is 3 quests in one. Sheep in Wolf's Clothing. And Cherchez la Femme.
Note: siding with Hanekin Hare will remove both "Hare Hunt" and "Sheep in Wolf's Clothing" from the active quest log (Quest failed).
The quest failed doesnt count in your quest data as this is not really a quest failed rather which quest you want to play.
"Cherchez la Femme" will become the active quest.
I chose to side with Hanekin and achieved the Hunter of Talmberg title. Henry is given ownership of the Hunter's Lodge at Talmberg after completing the quest Cherchez la Femme.

Wow thanks for all the info and links that will help with the other quests I am stuck on as well. I finally found the place to dig and was able to complete it mostly but lost rep a few times that I had no idea why from just trying to ask questions.

Trying to clear as much as possible before doing that camp (point of no return) quest.
