How am I supposed to find out who killed him?

go to the bandit camp, ckeck everything out while you get the necklace back, your charactter won't give you any clue it's up to you to notice things, if you inspected the encampment where Alphone died and Alphonse body on top of speaking about Alphonse with his friend you'll know what to look for.
Once you've got what you need fromt he camp and made your mind go back to Alphonse's friend and accuse someone.

But who did you accuse and why? I decided to just kill everybody in the camp except for the camp wench. I hope it wont effect the story.
