Games keeps switching in borderless mode from full screen mode
I noticed that the game runs better in full screen mode that in borderless mode. I do custom graphic settings on full screen, but after a while when I go back into the video settings it is back in borderless. When I change back to full screen it changes automatically all my graphic settings back to High presets. then I need to manually change everything back to my custom ultra high setting. This is annoying. Any idea to make sure it stays in full screen mode all the time. I noticing much better frame rates in towns in indoors when playing full screen.

My video settings are ULTRA HIGH preset with post processing, shaders, shadows on VERY HIGH and motion blur off in 1440p.

I've experienced the same.

Same, seems like alt tabbing causes it.

Happens to me too.

Just press alt+enter when its not in fullscreen again.
settings will still say its in borderless, but I'm sure you'll notice the difference

This game was doing that at launch. I stopped fighting it and just gave in. Now I'm pregnant.

Had the same problem but if you run it on a nvidia card there is a simple solution. run geforce experiance one time and optimize the game. After that it will stay on full screen mode.

I don't like nvidia experiance....it never set the settings the way I want. I have a RTX 2080 in combination with i8700k and nvidia experience only put everything on "very high" even so I can hit over 60fps on "ultra high" in 1440p.

If I use nvidia experiance to optimize it, would I still be able to do my own graphic settings and have it stay in full screen mode?

Well i do change many of the auto settings of nvidia eperiance too most of the time :) because i dont like the result. i just postet it because it fixes the "full screen problem" you still can change everything in game later (just dont touch the borderless/full screen ,switch anymore ;)

just press alt+enter instead of changing from borderless to fullscreen through settings

I did that, but how I know for sure that I am in full screen after I did that. Because even after pressing alt+enter it still shows borderless in the graphic settings.

every time you alt tab or change volume you will go out of fullscreen, so its easier to remember that you have alt+enter if you dont like your framerates in the cities.
I, personally, use vsync and vsync doest work for me whenever the game is not in fullscreen, so its pretty easy to notice when its borderless

ONLY IF! your an Nvidia user;
Start up "Geoforce" and OPTIMISE the game...then START it from Geoforce..this should "SET" the Graphics to run with your New Card...as the Game may still be Searching for the Old Graphics Card (Conflict)...you May have to do a hard Reboot if this fails..to reset the PC Register for all you programs to Recognise the New Graphics Card
and, as a last Suggestion go to the Properties of KCD files and find KingdomCome.exe. Here you will find a tab marked "Compatibility" at the Bottom of this Tab thers a Box labeled, "Change High DPI Settings".....Click on it....Check the box Change DPI...this will "SYNC' the windows Compatibility Sharpness to KCD, and sharpen the LOOK of the play too. You can go to windows setting and do this for all the APPS you use...the LINK is on this same DPI window...(The DPI settings are MORE important than People realise)...
