I hardly ever use kits to fix my gear. All gear traders or blacksmith fix it very cheap. I don't know why is that an issue for you man.
By the end of the game i had 200K Groshen and I had no idea what to spend it on. Just sell gear to traders. If they don't have enough money, you need to increase your reputation in that area. Take up missions in that town and people would start liking you and trading more. Don't steal from them either. Sell stolen goods in different area. You are probably getting searched all the time because you steal in that area and you are under suspicion. When my reputation in Rattay was bad, damn guards saw my stolen good on me with x-ray vision. When my reputation had increased, I walked around town with a stolen sword on my side, no one made a sound :)
This makes perfect sense, however every time my horse gets a whiff of bandits, or even hear them say something he just bucks me off. Even when I'm far away from them and no arrows have yet flown my way, I try to get back up on him and immediately throws me off again.
The only 3 deaths in HC I have are because my horse is useless. I never had this happen on normal, I have no idea what is wrong with him now but he's over reacting to the slightest hints that combat might break out, even before it does.
I can assure you that it is incredibly important to train a lot with Captain Robard. You will level up much quicker and Henry will become like the hulk as you progress throughout the game :0)
What it doesn't do is help with the multiple opponents situation.
Sadly the camera lock/drag has made that both tedious and immersion-breaking. Instead of quick and nimble movements to avoid hits, you're basically reduced to backpedaling nonstop while sneaking in strikes and making sure to win every clinch.
I've been looking for a mod that fixes the camera lock/drag nonsense, but no luck so far. It would've been better if the devs were smart and just made the combat dial respect the crosshair position, but they wanted it to be like a controller stick instead.
I bet there was a dev on the team that just wouldn't budge on this. It is highly unlikely there was any physical limitation that necessitated this camera lock/drag rule.
2. Masterstrikes sure have problem. Good idea, but it gets quite silly to the point you pretty much have to use a bow in close range combat because you never get hits in with a melee weapon.
3. Maybe you should pay more attention than. I do not have any problems with seeing an ambush ahead and plan for it.
4. You are exaggerating it, you do not get dirty that fast. However maybe you should consider that you are an adventurer, you are constantly on the road and the road is filled with muck and literally poop. People back in those days just throw their poop right out on the streets, to live in a city was disgusting.
5. You can't have a shirt under 3 layers of armor in the game. There is 4 slots for body armor: Outer Garments, basically clothing that makes you look better and go over armor. Body Plate, the main defensive body protection. Body Chainmail, the slot that add extra body protection. Body Garment, the slot that is the primary slot for clothing and armor padding. The only slots that are part of the Armor is Body Plate, Body Chainmail and Body Garment. If you have a regular shirt in the Body Garment when you have Plate Armor you are doing it wrong, you should have a gambeson or an arming doublet since that is what is supposed to be worn under armor. These do break because the enemy is trying to kill you.
6. Hunting for gold? You mean poaching? That is far from the best way to make money. The best way is to kill bandits and loot their armor and weapons. You earn money by selling those and there is quite a lot of merchant that buy those things. You also need to take into account that when the merchant reset their stock they sell all the stuff you sold to them while adding the money they have left. The Armorer and Hunter in Rattay in one of my games had like 30-50k because of how much I sold to them. Earning money in this game is not hard when you start to learn how to kill Bandits, but at some point you just have to figure out that you simply need to stop looting corpses as you do not need 200k.
7. The timer most likely slow down at the end as it might just be a hidden loading screen. If it is it doesn't really matter much if it go fast or not since you are stuck with a loading screen anyway.
8. Actually, they are free from paying taxes to Sir Divish. This is feudalism, everyone but the Nobles had money and the nobels was filthy rich. They will still generate money and you get to earn quite a lot on it as well. After 5 years you will have to start paying tribute to the Lord and not earning as much yourself. That is the story behind it.
9. The guards in Rattay only start their searches after you have stolen enough items to go over a value limit so the guars know there are issues with theft in the town. If they search you all the time, you have been a naughty boy.
You attack a bare knuckle man with your sword and you still cannot beat him. Is this realistic?
Just remember that you can't make any mistake when outnumbered. But when you know that basics it's easier.
It you step into horse dung and your boots get dirty, it would be OK. But you also get as dirty in just one day walking around inside of the monastry. After that your monk robe looks like you jumped into a mud puddle. Could realy use some fine tuning.
i had the same problem with this. For the character 5 years of all the income is great and all but by the time you as a gamer start making profit from the town, you probably dont have any real use for the money. That is, if you arent already finished the game.
As far as the fighting goes, the issue really is that the way you need to play in order to succeed, is to do really unrealistic cheesy things. Bandit camp sneak in, stealth kill, then run away and come back in 5 minutes when they've gone back to sleep. The game kind of forces you to do unrealstic things to win. However, i do love this game. There were moments i wanted to give up but its a fun and good game so i kept coming back.
