Mysterious Ways quest dead end

I talked to the father and got drunk with him at the tavern and then defended him and beat up those guys. Only after knocking out the last guy I got a bounty and it said objective “defend whatshisname” failed. The father ran off and I no longer have any quest interactions available with him. It just says “find out if anybody knows anything about Limpy Lubosh” but doesn’t track it anymore as well. Do I have to pay off my bounty to continue the quest? Why did I get one then? And I was apparently supposed to have sex and give a sermon but none of that happened.

Hi .. um .. I just finished that .. hopefully you have a save not to far from that point ... if not .. I didnt drink with the father and went a different route .. go to the scrib .. inside will be the baliff .. because you did fight .. pay him off .. then question him about limpy .. hope this helps ..

YEP...you failed to watch the Priests "BACK" in the fight and he got Beat Up...your his BUD dude in a Barfight(been in a few in my day) you only got ONE thing to do and watch your BUDs back..nothing else counts...:( GO back a save...and try again bro....

But what was weird is the quest failed after I knocked out the last guy and the priest was OK. thats why i was confused

Priest must have got his ass kicked .. even thouth you beat the crap out of the others .. I guess you didn't defend him enough .. don't forget to use "Q" in your quest log .. (to look at other stuff that isn't displayed on right side) .. um .. but as I said .. I went to bar and didn't drink .. though I was screwed and had to revert to an earlier save .. but .. it is optional .. good luck :))
