Characters texture/skin takes long to load/pops in ?
Hi guys, is anyone else having problem? Whenever i run up to characters in the first town, their face and clothes don't fully load until i get beside them and stare at them for 3-7 seconds. I've refused to play the game like this :( I'm not sure what settings i can use to fix that issue? I have an 8700k n 1080ti everything is fully optimized and works great on every game. If nobody else is having this issue the only thing i can think of, is it's the only game i don't play on 4k, and i have a 4k tv i use, so i tell it to scale in the nvidia control panel :S only thing i havent tried is playing it in 4k, but i cant imagine i would get a steady 60fps.

Whatever your game is installed on struggles loading the textures. Simply install the game onto an SSD or turn down your texture quality :)

SSD is a must for games with high rez textures. If SSD isn't an option then turn your texture setting down and make sure the high rez texture pack isn't on.

Then they have either a) a slow ssd or it's not installed properly, or b) a gpu with a low amount of vram.

Like I said I have a SSD and 0 pop in.

Mmm... are you using high-res texture pack? Here with an NVMe SSD 960 EVO M.2 properly installed, a GPU with 8GB VRAM (never fulled), Textures set to High in-game + HR-Texture pack on, I've noticed some pop-in mostly on characters clothes while I'm galloping fast, so your statement doesn't seem to explain all the issue. Anyway, the SSD helps a lot by reducing the issue to minimum.

I have an SSD and have those pop-ins too. Could be something else though.

I ahve 75gb available on my m.2 and i copy and pasted the game to th stam folder on the m.2 C:
got steam to reconize it, then while it was validating said nto enhought space lol and i ahve bothered with re downloading ti as it seems that's the onyl way ill be able to get it over to that drive. It only happens on characters for me too, that first dude that said he's waiting for a fix? that seems hopeful or is he just hopeless?

Yep high-res tex pack on and textures are set to very high. I'm also running the apex reshade. I have screenshots on my profile showing all my settings and the fps in all of them are between 50-60fps except one that is at 76fps and that is with the reshade off. What resolution are you running?? Also try adding this to a user.cfg file....

r_TexturesStreamingMaxRequestedMB = 3000 – Disk Read Speed
sys_budget_sysmem = 8192 – 8 GB Ram
r_TexturesStreamingMipBias = -3
r_TexturesStreamingResidencyThrottle = 0.8
sys_PakStreamCache = 1
sys_preload = 1
r_ShadersAsyncCompiling = 3
sys_float_exceptions = 0
ca_MemoryDefragEnabled = 0
e_MergedMeshesOutdoorOnly = 1
e_StreamCgfPoolSize=512
sys_MaxFPS=75

You can get your disc read speed by downloading a tool called AS SSD Benchmark here https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6014-as-ssd-benchmark.html

Change the speed above to whatever yours is..... round up.

Does the game run after you copied it to your ssd?
