I failed as well, then went back to the area and found another spot nearby that i hadn't gotten to, and i also pulled up a bunch of eyebright by accident lol.

A few rank points in alch and herb if I remember correctly. Enough that I hit 5 in alch, but not enough to do anything noticeable in herb because I did it a lot in the early game (I'm like rank 16 now or something). Unlocks a second quest to gather one of each herb and an old book for further points. Fairly easy few quests for some easy skill points all things considered. Most of the herbs for the second quest can be found in the immediate area.
Will have to get on this when i get home, i saw that list and turned away since i'm trash at finding herbs.
If I remember correctly, the alch in Rattay sells the herbs needed, so if you are willing to make a quick run, you can buy one of each herb and snag a quick copy of the book he sells, it will cover everything, if you want to go that route.
