From the ashes - What to build?
Hello! So now when people have played some from the ashes dlc and so on I have a quick question i need answered.
So i bought the dlc and activated it.. Did the first quest and so on. But I have so little money so I need to know what i should build first to start making money in the town, or at least not be in the negative. It is hard to try and so quests and loot etc at the same time as the village sucks your funds dry! So should I go for the woodcutter and tavern as fast as I can?

Thanks in advance! :)

woodcutter-bridge-trader-tavern.....

Woodcutter>Bridge>Trader>Forge is cheaper. Tavern requires stone and grain, and costs almost three times as much for the first earnings building for the same basic income as a consequence.

Also if it allows negotiate only for coal at first, adding the other three once you have the need if you have no funds and need income as fast as possible.

If you avoid overpaying the locator it can help with margins at the beginning, and gives a higher final profit.

You shouldn't really start building anything unless you got about 20000 Groschen or something like that. Since you need to build the woodcutter, the bridge and the trader before you do anything else, all those buildings are going to cost you about 500 Groschen a day until you have also built the forge. So unless you built everything at once you're going to end up paying literally hundreds for each day, without gaining any advantages.

Ye that is why I wanted to ask here first so I don’t mess up and end with even more negative per day.
So thanks for the answer! Wood-bridge-trader-forge it is! :)

You could, with perfect efficiency probably make do with 18,500-19,000.

You can *almost* break even with the Trader - an optimal arrangement with no imports is only -10 groschen per day, but you have to build one of the artisan buildings to make a profit, this is with all of the available workers for the Woodcutter and Trader's post.

It would be even cheaper to build baker or butcher... and you could maybe get a working and profitable hamlet with only ~15,000 with some care.

And what i want to know is whether the DLC worth to buy,it just looks like spend tens of thousands Groschen to put a confirmed village completed in advance. It is not a sandbox DLC.

Yep that's exactly it. For me it was fun regardless because I never gave a crap about amassing mone before, as I was just looting what I needed. The DLC forced me to do some treasure hunting and stealing and such, which was quite fun in Hardcore Mode.

So I would say the DLC itself was not worth it at all, but as an additional motivator to do some side quests I never was interested before and robbing people and sneaking and stuff I also never did once it was quite the fun time.

15,000 I should be able to fix in a couple of hours... Hopefully. Does the trader still earn money even if there is no forge, bakery etc. in the village?

Look in the ledger. He makes a tiny income by default (but not nearly enough to cover all the exisiting buildings).

The cost of the hamlet can be partially covered by finding the workers who support the built structures and negotiating wages favourably - without them you could be up to 225 groschen per day down at that point before importing anything.

Buying in only coal and building the forge is still viable though with the unoptimised start, the basic bakery will lose at least 55 if built alone, up to a loss of 155 per day. The basic butcher can get you to within 5 of breaking even.

(With the optimal choices, both the baker and butcher can raise a profit as the first income building though - up to 160 and 190 per day respectively).

Okay so the best way I found was:
Woodcutter - Bridge and road - Traders - Bakery.
After that I went -35 every day. But then I went and got Kornelius in Rattay to be my trader And suddenly I got +40 every day :)
Probably more profit with butcher but I wanted to test the bakery :)

Do you think they will update the DLC with a patch with more things to do? And maybe more things to add to the village and improve?

I think they probably will because Marius and Divish is always talking about expanding it and so on.... And also if you read in the description for the DLC it says you will be able to Defend the village, build farms etc. Which we have not been able to... :)
Loaf Jul 13, 2018 @ 5:14am
Okay maybe I read that somewhere else because it does not say that in the description :D

I would like that very much
