Report a translation problem
My answer is for PC only. I don't know about console.
Press the ~ symbol on the keyboard while you are in the game as the character, then type "g_showhud 0" to disable hud and type "g_showhud 1" to enable hud. After the first time you type it, you can scroll to what you typed with the UP and DOWN arrow keys and press ENTER to select. You will have to continuously do this everytime you start the game.
This is important and is a wonderfull experience which i'm glad to share with you and others. I am familiar with all the games on the market and thanks for your reccomendation and suggestion.
It doesn't take much to implement and has low risk of bugs. That was the purpose of this topic and we have taken the quick solutions as a temporary solution.
You could just add the command to a user.cfg file and add +exec user.cfg to your launch options I believe.
