HARDCORE Hud Option

Dear Maidens and Bandits,

[THE BACKGROUND]

Let me set the scene for you. I get a task, and know the general direction the task is going to be in. I leave at dawn, saying goodbye to Theresa if she is awake and promising to be back by sunset at the latest. I splash my face with some water, have a snack, and set off on my horse as we slowly trot on the designated path towards the general direction. Taking in the morning mist and the sleepy town, the calming wind, and the waking birds, i reach my destination by noon. Depending on the task, sometimes i go to the market when they open or i'm a few minutes early and sit by the bench as i see the shop owner arriving with a quick nod to greet. I finish the task and talk to who i need to and do what is to be done before it gets dark and arrive back home and fall asleep for a new day. Ofcourse there are a variety of experiences within this and all is generally without the Hud completely. I look at the map less and less and the only time i open the inventory is in the morning or at night before going to sleep. I get what i need for the day so that the only thing i see through the day is being in the moment.

[THE REQUEST]

After hearing of the great move towards a Hardcore Mode, i hope it is a good time to ask for the perfect complimentary No Hud Option to go with it.

Ever since the release, i have been opening the console in-game and using the command "g_showhud 0". The command which removes the hud completely. I wish this was an option, so please note this as a concern and that it is something you will atleast consider. If this request is too much, then i could accept the idea of a dynamic hud option, which switches on momentarily and then off. Some also call it "Smart Huds". In any case, i look forward to your opinions.

How to disable hud?
My answer is for PC only. I don't know about console.

Press the ~ symbol on the keyboard while you are in the game as the character, then type "g_showhud 0" to disable hud and type "g_showhud 1" to enable hud. After the first time you type it, you can scroll to what you typed with the UP and DOWN arrow keys and press ENTER to select. You will have to continuously do this everytime you start the game.

This is important and is a wonderfull experience which i'm glad to share with you and others. I am familiar with all the games on the market and thanks for your reccomendation and suggestion.

im going to use this for hardcore mod hud is pretty much usless anyways in it far as im concered isnt it? cant say much because i was only upto the fist fight and i got my ass whooped but anyways great post

If you're on PC, use one of the transparent HUD mods on the nexus to make all of the UI invisible.

Yes thanks... the request as from me and many others in this post and other posts, as well as the modders themselves who have made numerous No Hud Mods, are all saying the same thing. It's important to have it in the base game as a principle, just as the whole game was made on principle and did well on release.

It doesn't take much to implement and has low risk of bugs. That was the purpose of this topic and we have taken the quick solutions as a temporary solution.

You could just add the command to a user.cfg file and add +exec user.cfg to your launch options I believe.

yes thats right... there are several ways like adding mods or doing it manually depending on level of experience.
