I love it in a good fantasy setting, but I doubt it has a place in a game that aims to be realistic.
There are test videos showing that with the right sword, you can chop a pig clean in half. While the pig is unarmored, it’s possible. Check out the Cold Steel videos. As cool as dismemberment would be, I think it being extremely limited, not common, and allowing it mainly on unarmored people would be a better , more realistic choice.
