To the OP: Run immediatley unless you know you have the advantage. If you keep falling off your horse, it is the horse that bucks you off or the enemy is too close and is able to unhorse you.
Yeah, i mean.. there was a beautiful ambush i hit yesterday, was galloping past a small bush on the left and i was unhorsed and suddenly surrounded. that was fun, because of how unexpected it is. (Most ambushes in games are so weak it doesn't 'feel' like an ambush.)
when I got up off the ground, looked up and saw all 8 of them, it was like.. 'oh balls...'
I was able to kill them all somehow, but if i had to run, I would have led the melee away from the horse, then found a chance to sprint over and mount up. when you're mounting you can actually kick him into a gallop simultaneously. just remember to steer around the rock or trees that are blocking your path....
make note of them when you're escaping though. if they have bowmen, you can't flee in a straight line or you'll be back on the ground again.
But well, this is not an easy game. Each death hopefully teaches you something lol.
