How to claim a horse?
I killed some bandits in a forest camp (with death blow of course :3) and they had a horse, I took it but in my character page the horse tab is greyed out.

You can't ever claim a stolen or taken horse I think, you have to purchase it, which is quite common if you explore enough to find a stable that sells it.

Rattay doesn't have one that sells horses apparently so you have to go north east to a place, because progressing too far in the story can change some things dramatically like turning the town into ruin so you can't trade in it anymore.

In Skalit prologue you will have access to traders with mid-game gear actually, but since you can't pass time you can't sell stolen goods.

It could be possible to get certain items to help you early in the game without ruining certain area with the incoming 'war' of the main quest.

I probably couldn't buy until the Ginger quest is done.

Thank you guys, I will ride there with this horse, how much for a new one?
ChibiFenrir Feb 14, 2018 @ 4:10pm
cheapest I seen was 800/900
but if the horses are the same every round which I don't know if they're, but if they're don't buy the teir 5 there, there is a better teir 5 at the town below sir radizig's camp (just make sure you go thier and buy it before you attack the bandit encampment (quests line)

you can buy horses tier-5 that normaly cost 3k for less than 1k by asking for a trade-in and then haggling. IDK what the requirements are for asking for a trade-in but I assume it's high reputation or doing a quest for the seller.

You need a horse for a trade-in. Thats what you are trading. You get a discount because you give them your old horse.

You know you get a free horse given to you as part of the main quest, right? It's fairly soon after you get to Rattay.

Apparently if you already have a horse, it doesn't transfer ownership of Pebbles. You keep your other horse. You still need to at least mount Pebbles to continue the quest, as far as I have found online.
