Can't get game to play fullscreen

So I'm new to Windows as I've used Macs my whole life. I'm clearly doing something stupid. When I first started up kingdom come it was fullscreen. However the sound was being sent to my ps4 controller, so I alt tabbed my way out to change the sound settings.

Now I'm stuck in a window and can't full screen. I tried alt enter. Checked the settings I can't find anything. I'm sure its it's something simple. I blame my stupidity on years of Mac use.

Left Alt+Enter should switch between full screen and window but it may only switch back to borderless full screen. If I'm in full screen mode and Alt+Tab out then it goes to borderless window mode. You can try to set it back to plain old full screen by editing a settings file. Go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Saved Games\kingdomcome\profiles\default and open attributes.xml in notepad. Look for this line: <Attr name="res_fs" value="1" /> and make sure value is set to 1. 0 is windows, 1 is full screen, and 2 is windowed borderless (I think). Good luck!

Ok, was already set to "1" and still caused the problem. I now have made the file READ ONLY and so far it works, Yea. Will need to make it READ/WRITE to make future changes to in game settings

What do I do if neither of the solutions proposed work? Any ideas?

I made the file read only and fullscreen value doesn't change from 1, but the game still runs in borderless or windowed modes only :(

I'm also having troubles finding a resolution that suits my monitor. The only options are 1280 * 760, 1920*1080, 900p and 720p smth. If I set the game to Fullscreen the window just moves to the top left corner and has a size dependent on the chosen resolution.

All drivers are updated...

Yeah, I have the same problem. Neither solution has worked and my game is just stuck in the top left. Help please?

Mine was going to the top left and this seemed to fix it for me..... Now it will still sometimes start in windowed mode but left alt-enter sends it back to fullscreen....

Navigate to your games .exe file and right click.... go to properties then compatibility tab.... make sure Disable Fullscreen Optimizations is checked also make sure font issues with resolution scaling is checked and overide high dpi is checked and set to application then click apply then ok.

Also delete your shortcut on the desktop from steam and right click on the .exe file and click send to desktop to create a shortcut and always launch the game from this shortcut in admin mode....
