Using the Grindstone is IMPOSSIBLE
Does anyone else have the problem with your sword never being angled right or it just randomely jumping around in positioning in your hands? Also no sparks being showed or anything, just occasionally black smoke? this thing is buggy as hell imo

when i angle the sword sometimes its jumping around , but its kinda easy to get 99 dur , all u need is lower the blade till u see sparks , when u dont see them and the blade look clean , ur done

Grindstone has become way easier now, looks like when the sword jumps around its just the lack of grip strenght on it or something

I always scroll to max pressure and gently glide my mouse sideways. I do this to sharpen up to a dozen weapons at a time to 100 quality, and it only takes about 15 secounds per weapon.

Practice makes perfect.
Sometimes the sparks are barely visible, but if you're at max pressure, you can be sure it's working.

I thought i was doing a horrendous job because of the camera and the blade jumping around and seeing smoke but when i checked the durability/condition the weapon was like pristine condition but the blade looked like trash and I was like....uhh.....ok.....

there is a sword called "Shard" if i recall correctly, the blade looks completly wasted even with durability at 100%

I sat down at the grindstone... fiddled with the controls a little bit... realized it was beyond me what to do.... got up and never went back.... lol

Oh good. That's what I was testing the grindstone with. I honestly thought it was getting worse. Granted, durability only went up 1%, but still.

I have noticed this sometimes but it is not often enough to pose a problem for me. Before reading this I thought it was just Henry's hand slipping.

If you angle the blade so you can see it in the sunlight, it is visibly damaged. As you grind it correctly the damage goes away. Really cool effect.
as far as I know, sparks are good.

Using a ds4 controller.

I just pay the weapon smith to fix my swords/weapons.. Does the same thing. Grinding is just a repair function, it doesnt improve a swords stats. Which is what I was hoping for until I learned what it actually does.

Weaponsmith fixes your stuff to 100%

Wait the grindstone fixes the durability but not stats? You lose stats on your weapon over time in combat but don't get it back from the grindstone? That's dumb as hell7

I think he means it doesn't actually give any bonuses for doing it yourself.
Which I believe it does once you level up maintenance.

I am having the same problem and let me put it more clearly for the people who do not understand, we have already sharpened blades to full, the sparks and smoke were working just fine, now the sparks and smoke have suddenly stopped working.... any thoughts?

I figured out how to fix it, run the wheel and angle it where you think it might be sparking until you get fully tired out, the sparks and smoke should come back online
Hammer Of Evil Jun 23, 2018 @ 7:18pm
if you have super high DPI mouse like me, you gotta set a special configuration to work with the game, or disable DPI settings and let the game control it.

Also though, level 1 maintenance, im guessing that means henry has a bad case of suck.

pretty choked smithing isn't in the game though, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Would be awesome to have.

either a graphical glitch (of which there are MANY) or you have the angle incorrect. also when you hit 100% it won't spark anymore either, so there is that, too. (yes im aware you solved it, this is for newcomers to the thread)
