So, I do weed the herbal garden at the monastary (oh god, do something about the pick herbs animation already)...

I cleared out all the weeds but still it fails, I can't find any more weeds, so either its bugged or you have to pick all the damn things in the entire place, and not just in the plots..

I did remove only the weeds he did mention to remove. Nothing else, Just. he still throw a hissy fit. and I cant find any more weeds to pull out in the garden plots.

I'm in a similar boat, and I'm getting something like:

"If this is what you call a finished job... I'll just do it myself"

Now, I did accidentally pick maybe 2-3 mint plants by accident. The swaying of the plant made it so that I picked the wrong thing.

I picked 486 Nettle, 360 Dandelion, and 34 Thistle from that whole area of the monestary, and still got the message about the job not being finished (just in case he wants to expand the garden). I went over the actual garden in particular several times to be sure, and there are none of the three types of weeds remaining, unless they are bugged out invisible/below the ground.

I also picked (1) wormwood plant outside of the garden borders, and (1) mint plant inside the garden (but I told the brother that not a leaf was wasted). I picked nothing else from the Monestary.

I thought so too, but apparently, you are to deweed the whole garden - not just the bed holding the mint.

I can say last night I was able to do it successfully ("Truly you're a good man Henry"). I made sure to pick everything I could find all along that wall (including outside the plots), didn't do the other side of the path.

Can't remember the exact count (doesn't match Elisarion's numbers, except maybe thistle), but there were no other herbs in inventory.

Really it is just a case of look it over carefully it seems. I find crouching helps distinguish the dandelions from just the small yellow flowers in grass texture.

You have to go back to him and tell him when youve cleared it. The quest marker stays on the garden.

There is a small patch of comfrey just past the mint patch. There is a very small part just past the flat board boarder where you can stand is still in the area that needs weeding. I did the whole comfrey patch just to be on the safe side. I came up with 33 dandelion, 42 nettle.and 22 thistle (there may have been a few from the wild before I got the quest). After passing over the area several times, the area was still active until i had talked to the priest. I'm not sure if that small area in the comfrey patch counts or not, but it's worth a shot. Just don't pick anything else. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I did the comfrey patch too. What seems to have fixed it was either not picking any mint (not even one), and I also weeded on the outside of the stone wall incase Nemo has x-ray eyes, so just to be safe I weeded all the way to the stream. He was happy with that work- gave me 25 whole coins. I have a feeling picking the one mint leaf is what broke it the first time I tried, because I thoroughly photographed and there are definitely no weeds from that first attempt. I'm really tempted to go back and do it a third time where I only pick everything except the weeds out of the garden...

There's a semi-relevant bug related to this.

For me, I picked all the necessary weeds, and he was happy.

However, when I went to pick up my next quest from him (about his book), he insulted me about my earlier job at the garden (even though he had said I did a perfect job).

Guy just can't be satisfied! :P

Well, now I just got another quest from Nicto to go collect one of every herb, and he said "you can't afford to botch this job like you did the last one" even though he praised me for being a herbalist at heart for weeding his garden so well. That's annoying.

Whoops... meant to pick one comfrey and ended up sweeping up half his garden.
