Going to jail is an instant game over?

Why is that so? is this only while im on a mission for some noble or something? at what point is it acceptable to go to jail without failing the game?

I went to Jail when I fought (person) who owed me money in Rattay. I only went for two days, and when released had a buff on my stats for a while that I was recently release from jail. Not sure what you mean by game over.

No there is even an achivment to have spent 3 days in jail.

Yes it is, in prologue when Kumans comes to burn your village and kill your parents. (not spoiler if it was told in trailers) you will burn to death when in prison. But after this its non lethal.

why wouldnt it be acceptable? you can play whatever style of henry you want

I died in prison as well for stealing a piece of cheese..

well i went to jail for murder while i was doing a mission for baliff and it even said you got kicked out of the ranks of so and so you failed game over lol

That's only in the prologue, after it you can go to jail just fine and spend however much time you want in it.

You only die in prison during the prologue. For the rest of the game, you can spend time in prison and just get out with weaker skills.

If you steal a lot, like me, then when I had mission where I was going from point A to point B with someone (during mission), guard catched me - then game ends, because Racek(I dont know his name in english) will be disappointment in you. So you must be careful. If this will be problem in your quest, then do quest later, or let guard catch you before mission and so on so on, you need to think what are you doing and what are consequances.

I was mid way through the mission where you have to follow the guard around town on patrol. "Accidentally" punched a guard and when I submitted to being arrested and go to jail, it was a "Game Over" and I had to reload. So maybe for certain missions or the early part of the game you cant go to jail?

If you are on mission(I guess) and you will attack some guard or do something, lets say, stupid - its game over - cause you will "fail your lord" (if you know what I mean).
