Where to get horse armor?

Has anyone found out where to actually buy armor for your horse? The traders just offer caparisons, horseshoes, bridles and saddles, but no head & body armor for the horse.

Same. Good luck getting an answer in here though. Everyone is super eager to talk about political incorrectness of the game but no one likes to talk about in-game stuff.

I assume we are talking about the two slots named horse body armor and head armor? Not saddles, caprisoned barding etc?

Exactly those. I've looted a bunch of treasure chests just to be sure and nothing for those two slots spawned in them either. I'm getting the feeling that I'm missing an incredibly well hidden merchant or something like that.

I read something about better endgame horses for combat. You can already get full plate armor straight after the tutorial, so your destrier has to wait.

I was just there. No armor.
He only sells Bridles, Saddles, caparisons and spurs.

You're my hero. So I guess horse armor is more akin to an easter egg than a "standard" piece of equipment.
