Same for you :)
Open console (key on the left next to 1) and type in these two lines
cl_bob 0
cl_headbob 0
Swaying around as if I was on a ship was making me feel horribly ill moments after starting the game. Now I will at least be able to play
Not sure if 1.22 includes any tweaks to headbobbing but what I also did was add the commands to her game (added to user.cfg and use +exec user.cfg in launch options in Steam):
cl_bob 0
cl_headbob 0
(I know it seems they don't work but something helped this time so maybe they do subtly work?)
I also added this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/24?tab=description No Reticle (the clean mod version), maybe not constantly seeing the reticle in the centre of the screen somehow helps with the motion sickness?
In addition to the additions to user.cfg
cl_bob = 0
cl_headbob = 0
I would also recommend increasing the fov, max setting of 75 is far too low for me, and my experience from other games tells me that anything below 85 is often nausea inducing, so I have set
cl_fov = 90
which seem to help.
probelm is that incresing fov also drops FPS, so you might need to lower some graphics, as fluid and fast framerates is key to avoid getting sick.
Not sure about removing the reticle, as sometimes having a steady focuspoint can help.
Other good advices (when playing:
- close your eyes when mounting/dismounting horses, opening doors etc, as the camera moves and tilts "because its supposed to be realistic". Very nausea inducing (to me)
- when riding, DO NOT use the function where the horse follows the trail, steer it yourself!. You will go in much more straight lines, instead of the horse constantly turning left and right. ( A bit like that you dont get carsick when you drive the car yourself, but do when you are a passenger)
To get the camera shake part of this mod working:
Go to your game install folder and navigate to the Data foler.
Open Scripts.pak in WinRAR.
In WinRAR, Navigate to:
Scripts/Entities/Other/CameraShake.lua
Double click this file from within WinRAR.
If asked what to open with, choose notepad.
Make the following changes
fRadius = 0.0,
fStrength = 0.0,
fDuration = 0.0,
fFrequency = 0.0
Hit save, change save as type to all files and leave the filename the same (CameraShake.lua).
WinRAR will ask if you want to save the changes to the current archive, choose yes.
