When i catched the second bird, i had to use one potion to save on the spot, and reload, then the cage reappeared again. Didnt work on the last one :( Used all my potions for it..saving..reloading etc. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
First, I can distinctly make out that sound that the Hunter makes. If you cross the river, through the fishing spot, head directly north west up the hill. Near the "Interesting Site", you'll find a flat hilltop where the sound is quite loud.
So here is what I did: I crouched, and I tried to move slowly around until I found the loudest point. This -seemed- to be a spot on the ground where a layer of sticks were. I would slowly drop cages, one at a time, moving around until once a trap is dropped you get the message "Trap Set!". I would then pick up the other traps.
I generally would drop a trap and then come back a day later. I would find the box _with_ a towel over the top. When I picked it up, it would identify it as a quest item with a bird inside.
However, now, I have dropped my third trap, and it has shown up on the map itself as marker "C", but does not actually appear at the site.
If there is a way to buy more traps, or create them, maybe I can fix this. It appears I cannot turn in the two birds to complete the quest with the Hunter.
Accessing your horse inventory can be done by pressing 'B' near your horse. See if the traps are in his inventory now.
1. Set the trap.
2. Take 1 step back.
3. Wait for 1 hour by pressing 'T'.
4. The bird should be in the cage -> Collect it
5. Repeat above with the next bird.
Also make sure nothing is very close or touching the cage. Your horse should take some distance as well and don't drop it into a tree.
In my case I didn't have a horse when I took on this quest. It's def not in the horse for me.
I know for sure I left two cages and did not go 1 by 1. When I left two cages, one of the two disappeared, and one did have the bird.
The third cage shows up on the map, but does not show up in the game world in such a way I can pick it up.
Annoying. I think this quest is broken for me.
This worked perfectly for me, thanks!
