What's the key combination to dodge?

I believe it's A/D when the green shield icon appears,right?
I havne't been able to perform dodge anymore after the arena training. There's no such skill as dodge, so I must've messed up the key combination.

Eee...I thought the green shield was to make a perfect parry or block. You dodge by hitting a WSAD based on where the strike is coming from, so like...from the top, you hit S to dodge backwards, etc... but then, I suck at combat...the thing is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hopeless for me.
