Arrested at the beginning of a mission

So I'm just finished saving Hans from the Cumans in the Forest. Once I am tasked with mounting my own horse and talking to Bernard, every single guard immediately tries to arrest me. Anyone else having this issue? I can't reload the game, I might need to replay the entire Hunting section with Hans...

Yes this just happened to me. So I paid the fine and wanted to go on The hunt begins quest. But surprisingly I cant interact with captain Bernard and I cant start the quest. So I went to old mill, came back later to the castle and soldiers wanted to arrest me again!

I've come to terms that it may be part of the how the plot goes? I dunno seems silly to give you a quest to intentionally make you fail...

Naaah I dont think its a part of the plot. Its just a bug.

Rep at the time was 100 - the guards arrested me for brawling but I had no fights in Ratty or the surrounding area of Ratty (Theresa's Uncles Mill etc) - It's not just hte guards that caught, the Captain ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ started whacking me before I surrendered xD

After you finished hunting with Hans, did you still have any of the meat or hides in your inventory? Killing some of the animals is poaching and the meat etc counts as stolen items. Could explain why the guards went after you.

Isnt that the part where their suppose to give you your own horse, so you can follow them.

In my playthrough when i came to the Courtyard, i thought i could finish the quest a bit later, and Fast Traveled to Theresa, to go on a Date with her.

there by i automaticly failed the mission of grouping up with them, i did got a sidenote that they left me my Personal Horse in the Courtyard, and the Entire Group + captain vanished from the courtyard, and already continued the Main Quest without me... and i had to play Catch-up with them...

where as i did i per accident failing that part of the mission, maby u should purposely try to fail to meet up with them !!!

This is very interesting note. Im going to try to get rid of those rabbits before I release Hans ftom Cumans camp. Because Once I release him, there is no chance put that out from inventory. And see how it goes. (but guard is arresting me for pubs fight anyway. But I will give it a try.)

Well I have found out something. It has nothing to do with rabbits meat in my inventory. Guards want me arrest anyway (accusing me of a pubs fight what never happened). So I paid the fine and hurry run after captain Bernard. When I talked to him before he reached corner of the castle square, I could talk to him and the quest began. BUT when I talked to the guard (who is trying to arrest me) too long and captain Bernard reached the corner, there was no possible interaction afterwards. So the key is talk to the Bernard while is walking. Once he is just standing in the corner of the castle square (next to horses) there can be nothing done. The quest will never start, because you cant talk to the captain.

I actually got rid of the rabbits as I thoroughly enjoy archery in KCD. I had to drop all meat to actually move in to release him from capture. I didn't have Hare game meat nor did I have hides on me. The only thing that was stolen in my inventory was a wayfarers goods.

Prior to the mission I wasn't involved with any law breaking incidents and if I was I had the coin to pay the fine. I've completed the entire game now, but it's just that one mission I have failed and the reason given was because I was punching or brawling... Strange.

Odd so the game is infact against you once you have your assignment from Hanush and Radzig? I tried doing 2 things, one was your solution to catch him as hes walking and it triggered the mission. The other way I did it was NOT pay the fine, instead get arrested and then catch up to the captain. He was rightly pissed off but it still let me continue the story.

Yeah i just had something similar happen, during Robber Baron i scouted the farms then went back to the camp to report in. As soon as i got back to the camp, all the guards attacked me and the coin purse icon appeared out of nowhere lol.

I know I’m 2 years too late, but I think I got it. After the conversation with Radzig and Hanush, in the black screen that loads the game, when the quest updates are appearing, I heard a generic soldier demanding I got searched, like when they get you lockpicking or trespassing. After the game loaded the game was telling me I was witnessed committing a crime. I had nothing stolen on me, so I submitted to a search. He found nothing and let me go my way. I think that while the game was loading I got “back to the game” after the video, and that was a restricted area, and the dolt was right there at the door. Oversight maybe

By any chance did you knock out people, steal their stuff, and murdered them while stealthing?

Because the towns will figure it out eventually and trace it back to you, and instead of a 'bounty' to arrest you it's a 'jail' icon that you are a wanted criminal.

Because the towns will figure it out eventually and trace it back to you, and instead of a 'bounty' to arrest you it's a 'jail' icon that you are a wanted criminal.
