Stutter/mini freezes
Anyone else experiencing it? Going into dailogue, while fighting and just walking around(game loads new area, just my guess).
With strong i5, 1070 and 16GB ram it should not go like this.

I did some testing with the settings and since you have a similar system and i am playing at 1440p it might work for you too try this:

Go to your game properties and add the following launch command according to the amount of your RAM:

4 GB -heapsize 524288
8 GB -heapsize 1048576
12 GB -heapsize 1572864
16 GB -heapsize 2097152
24 GB -heapsize 3145728
32 GB -heapsize 4194304

Next thing and i spend a good amount of time testing all the graphics parameters one by one with low and ultra settings and i just found the amazing 60fps sweet spot in all areas in the game and even the dialogue cutscenes are smooth.

Below the result of my tests, it's the difference between Low and Ultra settings

Object detail: 3 fps
Game effects: 0 fps
Lightning: 0 fps
Particles: 0 fps
Physics: 0 fps
Post processing: 3 fps
Shaders: 30 fps (the most performance demanding setting)
Shadows: 14 fps
Textures: 8 fps
Water: 2 fps
Volumetric: 0 fps
Vegetation: 2 fps

Keep in mind that this might change depending on your GPU Vram, i have 6gb vram.

Play fullscreen, and then go to advanced graphic options and put all the settings including the last 3 bars on ultra high but put shaders and shadows on low and turn off motion blur, then if you want to cap the fps at 60 use an external program, i am using RivaTuner statistics and it's working really good.

Hope this helps because the game is running amazingly well for me, i was having the same problems as you during the whole prologue but now it's perfect.

My specs are :
i7 6700k, GTX 980Ti, 32gb Ram, installed on SSD and i am playing @1440p resolution

Yeah i keep getting it too, was just gonna check if someone had a solution for it aswell :(

So far I went down from ultra high to normal high settings, will see if it helps.

Constant 5-10 second freezes, even on low settings. Makes the game nearly unplayable, at least unenjoyable.

i5, 660 GTX and 16GB ram.

ya from what i can tell, there really isnt a solution. changing settings didnt help with the stuttering for me. Iv tried a few different things but nothing helped. Was really hoping that release was ganna be more optimised than the beta but i feel its worse, i understand that the map is way bigger than beta and all that so i understand why but still sucks

Aye. Making games can be difficult. Just pointing this one out. I'm not really "hating" on game, I just want to find solution for problem.
I sended ticket to the devs hopefully it will give us something.

Same here, game runs pretty nicely (at around 50fps) but freezes up for several seconds very often, on low/medium settings, i5 3,4ghz, Gtx 960, 16gb RAM, Windows 7.

Back when I was in 'Nam, it was called a cuncussion grenade.

I downloaded the newest driver for my Nvidia card and it helped a bunch with the stutter. Worth a try for you guys too ;)

It wont get rid of the problem totally, but it reduced it alot for me.

Or maybe just some parts of the game is worse then others.... But so far its been less of it

The same here...

At first, before getting beaten up by Runt, every once in a while the sound starts looping in second intervals, and shortly afterwards the game will freeze for about a minute (!) . If that happens while in dialogue, instead the character mouth animation will stop and the sound will be gone, while the (now silently) dialogue still continue, but slower. After a minute, the sound comes back, with whatever dialogue was said before the bug started being said at the same time as the new dialogue. Should the dialogue end before the bug is over, the game will freeze as usual.

Now, before the open world began, it didn't happen too often, and not in cutscene. But since the open world started (after the first Runt fight), the bug has become much worse. Now it literally happens almost every half a minute. I realized usually when something is loading, like texture, or going next to a NPC. Also now in cutscenes, too. The last cutscene had 4 of these freezes, again like the dialogue, with the sound and mouth animation disappearing, but otherwise continuing.

While this happens, after the first seconds of the freeze, I hear my hardrive making a short click sound, and one, two seconds before the freeze ends a short click noise again. Otherwise it's silent.

To me, it seems as if the game has problems reading the disk? Or Hardrive? Or something like that, I don't know. But it made the game unplayable to me, since it ruins both normal gameplay, and any cutscene and dialogue.

I have a GTX 1080 with 16 GB RAM, as well as the newest driver.

Facing it as well. While compare to others my FPS are stable around 60s but the stuttering is there rare as it is still annoying.

Same with me, game runs like garbage, I'm giving them a little time to fix before I refund. I would like to give them a chance atleast, but this sucks. People pay a lot of money for this crap.

I heard from someone that when he upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10, the freezes stopped.

Has anyone here who also suffers from freezes Win 10? Or anyone able to upgrade and tell us if it helped?

Someone said they solved it by changing to Fullscreen mode, not borderless. And switching of V/G sync FPS limiting.
You might have to edit a config file to do some of this.
He said it removed the freezes. I have not tested it myself.

I would link the thread, if I could find it again!
