Yes, and it'll be quite obvious to spot the marker.

Really? Because I thought part of the point was making the player actually talk to people and figure out where they needed to go.

Not sure if you can disable it, but the NPC guidelines are very, very specific and detailed. So I hope so.

+2 for both.
The thing i know is, wen you reach the camp (for example) you are going to find out your options and choose the best one you can handle just by exploring the camp and NPCs infos, with no marks on the options.

But its possible that you have the locations showen on your map.
however (not like many) its not going to have a Neony digital marks around the map, showing the directions, options, stuffs to make a game easy for a small kids while its tagged for matured minds.

It really feels like you can disable it, at least if we look at some quests in the beta....Because one of the NPCs in the Beta explained (in like 5 dialog "skips") where the "target" is. Like literally, take the road north, ride until you go to a stone bridge, then wait until you see the stream cutting the road ahead, look to your right and go up the hill. I found it just fine without using the map at all. I was curous if it works and it does. Not sure if this would work with all the quests, but it would be really cool. Somehow feels like too much trouble to have all this dialog used and the map marker is always on. Hope someone can answer this, I am really curious.

Yes thats the main goal for the mission, that the best tool for making decisions (gameplay wise)
Even other than beta, the Original Mafia from Daniel Vavra in 2002 was trying to do so a little bit, as much possible as it was in that time.
But in the Beta you will see another Mission in the way you mentioned but much heavier.
Hope this Video about the Minds and etc is your answer:

The map markers show the general, not the specific location of your target. For example, you know the target is in the forest north of the village -- so on your map, there will be a circle around the entire forest, which still leaves you with some exploring to do. Even if you can't disable them entirely yourself initiall, I'm sure mods will fix it (TM)
