The whole storyline would never exist in real medieval times, because the shame of a bastard son, would make a Lord lose his fief, so the chances that a noble man tells his bastard son the truth are 0.
He would lie straight to his face instead of telling anyone the truth.
So many people say this game is so realistic, lol none of you lived in medieval, me neither, but this is an idea of how the early 15th century could have been, not a real situation.
cause it's not Dark Souls
Yeah, true, never recognized.

While never is obviously too drastic a term, even reading through the wiki page makes it clear that such recognition is a rarity.
Of course, I'd point to the other number of fantasy based elements, such as the potions being the most obvious.
It's a fictional game with a historical backdrop.
High level bandits and their leaders are much harder than those 2 "bosses" you mentioned. If its still too easy, then fight them 1 vs 5, naked and with crap weapon :)
