Honestly, it's a great way of making the game harder in the beginning. Later in the game, you'll be so rich that you can buy all the schnapps you need, plus you also find them quite frequently. Or just save and quit before a major event.

Yes, the limited save option is great for non-(or limited)-risk takers - but once you learn how to craft the Schnapps - or start cheesing by making the Schnapps before Henry can actually read - then you are effectively doing Unlimited Saves anyway.
