Can't do parries and master strokes outside of training?

I can do both at full speed when I train with Bernard in the arena, but outside of it I have yet to see my character do either. I'm level 17 btw so I don't think it's because I'm too low of a level. My swordsmanship level is also around there. I can trigger the green shield slo-mo in combat but is something else supposed to happen afterwards?

How's your frame rate? If you're in the low 40s or 30s, the input lag is terrible and you'll miss the window.

What is important here is that you have higher warfare and weapon skill then your oponent. Your main level has little to do with it. But yea I think Goatroach is right. You're probably some type of lag issues.

IIRC Master Strokes are luck based, but I hit parries every time unless I'm being attacked from multiple directions

You can execute master strokes all the time its just the timing has to be perfect, instead of looking at the green shield on your crosshair try looking at the opponent. As soon as he starts his swing, hit parry and you'll do a master stroke. A lot of times to exucute it you have to hit parry even before the green shield appears.

As said above, If you hit slo-mo, you were too slow for master strike. You must block before the green shield indicator.
