Next game should be about Vikings and Anglo-Saxons.
Maybe taking on the role of a young boy in East Anglia when the Great Heathen Army first arrives. The king makes a deal with the vikings and they head north but return a few years later and plunder the village.

Same premise of a young lad seeing his family slaughered and escaping then growing older and fighting back against the invaders.

Could also be the reverse as you play as a young viking while the story attempts to rationalize his actions. Overpopulation, scarce resources, glory, etc.

I completely agree. Most "viking" games that release are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'd also love something focusing on the Mongol's... I love how they handled horses in this game and damn would it be fun to ride with the Mongol hordes.

If they made a game on Bernard Cornwell books Saxon Chronicles it would be quite cool. I really love the TV show that is based on his books called The Last Kingdom.

why would they make another boring cliche game when they can continue with their own intriguing history? also, vikings looked like crap

I would like to see a game like this but with the Knights Templars but Vikings is also a very good choice. The Last Kingdom is fantastic way more than The Game of Thrones I lost interest in GOT after 3 seasons I highly doubt I will lose interest on The Last Kingdom after 3 seasons.

Take us to Nicopolis!

Viking age is like around 500 years before Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Very different technology and society. I don't think it would work very well tbh. Somewhere else in Europe in Late Medieval period would work better. [EDIT] OK, 500 years, not 700 as put first, but still a long way back.

800AD-c. 1050 to be fair. I could see something working during the latter half of it.

For one, there wasn't really any plate armour. Just chainmail, if you could afford it. I am sure someone can find an exception but on the whole the look of the Viking age was a lot different.

TBH, they're exploring an interesting time period and location, and as such should focus on this theme.

Instead, I suggest the next 'proper' sequel should focus on either the Hussite Wars, but somehow I'm quite interested to see something along the lines of playing in the Dutch/German region at the start of the Protestant Reformation

Early plate armour was introduced around the period of the Hundred Years War. I am biased being English but would love to see that period covered.

Anything European made by Europeans will do for me. America doesn't have the ability to do a good job at anything outside its own borders.

I'd like to see something that involves Halley's Comet and how our "Gods" were actually spacemen. Then you can see how our entire history was based on idiotic assumptions.

Henry could get beamed up by aliens, having come to collect their now mature specimen. LOL

Cynicism aside, anything medieval and involving plate armour and no trace of Americans will do for me.

Why would it need rationalizing? Nations and all kinds of ethnic group have invaded and declared war without any rational reason (power, riches, control etc). To rationalize his actions would feel kinda off. Like he was a slave and forced to fight or whatever. All cultures are different and if we are to play as a viking, depending on year and exceptions, it would be OK to needlessly kill innocents or deploy tactics that christians would see as dishonorable/immoral.

Famine, overpopulation, scarce resources etc are rational reasons as to why someone would declare war/raid. Vengeance is also, in my opinion, rational. The vikings invaded and raided for several different reasons both unrational and rational.

Owain Glyndwr :)
But nah I'd like more central and eastern Europe, more Bohemia is fine as well.

They do in all TV series, movies and games. Go visit a museum, the best one with a living history / reenctment event and get some education.
