Nasty Habits - I'VE FIGURED IT OUT [Spoilers]
So, for those of you who don't know, in the quest "Needle in a haystack", in the monastery, at night, the circators meet and drink. If the circators put you in confinement for the first time, you get this quest automatically. I encountered many problems in trying to complete this quest and I haven't seen anyone address the solutions, so here I go:

"The circators arrest me as soon as I go up to them while they're drinking": The problem is, they aren't arresting you for approaching them while they're drinking, they're arresting you for past offences. That's why they don't always say "you're trespassing", for me it was "stealing is a sin".

This one's simple, the circators are psychic (somehow) and know if you've committed a sin. All you have to do is let yourself to go prison, you'll be let out at 4 AM. Go about your day while making sure to stick to the schedule and commit no wrongdoings whatsoever, then that night you can go and interact with them properly. Remember: if you're arrested, the circators take everything except your clothes, so make sure to store anything valuable you have (especially a lockpick, you'll need it)

"I can't place the wine casket on the table": This one's annoying. In the conversation with Jodok right after you exit the church, you have to agree to go alone. If you keep picking "You're going with me!" he'll eventually just say "Damnit, just do it!" and if you do it, you can't do it, it glitches out. The dialogue option I picked was, first "I thought you were going with me", then "very well", then I got the wine and delivered it and the quest completed.

PS: Lockpicking is incredibly useful in this whole questline in the monastery. If you need lockpicks and didn't sneak them into the monastery, then when you're with Nevlas at the alchemy bench, make as many potions as you can, since you can sell them to Cellarus for lockpicks. I wouldn't recommend actually stealing food, the circators always figure it out (somehow).

This is the highlight of this post! But thanks for explaining to me how to get around this trouble.

You should ammend your OP at the end, if you don't mind. If you have no lockpicks, go pick up the one behind the altar. Use it to open an exterior door to a) retrieve handy items from your horse's inventory, or b) sneak to the inn where you have lockpicks stashed in your Everywhere Chest, or c) break into the room where your belongings are. :kcdgkw:

Thank you man, I thought it was a bug but in reality was just very boring and unclear sequence of events. I'm strugling to stay awake in this mission. The most boring chapter since The womans Lot.
