Why can't I buy a horse from Johann in Merjohed?

Got tired of waiting. Went ahead and bought Kanthaka in Uzhitz.

Having this issue now. Cured the town like two in game weeks ago. Have done myriad quests, etc. every time i go back, johann still only sells gear. All That Glisters is also completed and has been for some time. Guess ill make sure to grab the warhorse right off the bat my next play through.

Several weeks after the ginger rescue I went to buy jenda, but johann only sells me gear and has no other dialogue option, have yet to do any quests related to merjohed.

Didn't all the animals in Merhojed die from drinking poisoned water? Unless you actually see horses walking around it's unlikely that Johann will have any horses to sell you.
