red X on gear now?

I haven't had a chance to play in a while due to work, but noticed today that there is now a red X on some pieces of gear. I checked patch notes but didn't see any mention of its meaning. I'm stil able to equip that gear so can someone enlighten me to the X's meaning? Thanks

Well it's a good idea. Means your carrying the weight of tbe item yet it hax no benefits. If it shows 0 durability it cannot be repaired either.

Cant be 0 durability, I have a X on an item that still has 9 points left. I'll look for other topics.

So apparently its either low durability or broken gear. Good to know, thanks for the responses.
