paying fines for having done nothing

guards keep coming up too me and wanna check my bags and im like "okay sure" since i dont have any stolen things on me, but then they start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about me having stolen things and say they will keep them, but afterwards i still got all my stuff but still have too pay a fine!?

is this a bug of some sort? and if so do you guys know a fix for it?

Stolen keys probably (they are on your key rings)
And make sure that there's nothing in the saddlebags that's stolen, they seem to check those too.

Better to avoid altogether being searched randomly. To achieve that you can do the following:
- Look like a normal guy (clothing with low conspicuousness, no blood on you, don't be dirty as <3 )
- Or alternatively: Look like a rich noble guy (expensive stuff, high charisma)
- Have good reputation with the guards-
- Abide the law (carry torch at night, don't injure people with your horse)

Same thing happens to me all the time. Guards accuse me and want to search me every 5 feet and then say I stole things when I didnt and have to pay 30g.

Also they keep randomly coming up to me saying I murdered someone when i didnt and I have to keep going to jail.

I quit for many reasons and this is just one of them. Currently I am progression blocked with a quest telling me to wait and it's been over 6 months and nothing.

Are you wearing bloodied clothes/weapon maybe??

Did you carelessly ride someone down? That deals damage you know, can easily kill someone when you're gallopping over a them.

I read somewhere that you may get accused of crimes you've never committed. But I'm not sure how it all works

I was sent to jail for 5 days for abusing someone's animals or something... The only thing I can think of that I may have done, is bumping into a cow once...

It happend for example when somebody sees you near a corpse, they suspect you and report you to the guards.
Or when you are wearing bloody clothing.
Or when you have low rep with the guards and they feel like harassing you.

cute joke. in case u arent trolling tho, stop and frisk only existed in new york a couple years and has been illegal since a few years ago. democrats said its "racist" even tho it cut crime by 80%.
