stuck waiting for mysterious knight

So here goes my story. I had already fought Ulrich once and got my♥♥♥♥♥handed to me, so I waited a day to buy arrows and when I went to the inn he wasn't there, so I rented a room and when I went to sleep Ulrich was in a bed so I then decided to steal his loot out of his chest because lol. After this he started beating me with his fists so I just cut him down until he surrendered. From that point it activated his surrender dialogue as though I won the duel with him and I was able to continue the other quests after but now that I have finished talking to Floran there is still the quest "lie in wait for the mysterious knight" at the inn. How do I get this quest to go away since I cant find a way to fix it.

Seems like you found a new way to botch a quest :-D
You can try if the game progresses when you do the next steps without Ulrich's, um, cooperation. As his assistance is optional, something might work.
Look in your inventory under quest items, do you have a letter? If yes, try bringing it to master Feyfar in Rattay.
If not - Is Ulrich still there?? Knock him out or kill him, see if you can find the letter on him.
Is there a painter guy at the inn? If yes, try to talk to him
