Those HD textures load up close and the system for switching from low quality textures to high quality texture in this game is one of the worst I've seen.
For the record though I had this prior to 1.4 but it was quite limited. Since 1.4 it seems to of doubled.
Still no clouds when it rains too but that doesn't have anything to do with the low res problem you describe. ~shrugs~
Is this your dad OP?
Hahahahahaha!!!
I got my bits n bobs from SCAN, in Bolton.
I will be asking a lot more questions and paying more attention, next time I buy parts.
Pretty much this for me too. I switched back to normal textures, slapped everything on High (for my max) and my card is barely hitting 40% now at 74c and the graphics are practically the same. Still a lot of headless people but only when I sprint on my horse. Just want to note a 2nd time that this was not a problem for me before 1.4. Played on Ultra everything and at worst I had a couple roadside puddles that wouldn't load in time. Now it's practially everything and I'm on way lower settings.
1.3.3, 1.3.4: Ultra = mild popin textures seldomly
1.4: High, non-HD = extreme popin textures in rattay and frequent everywhere else.
