Question for Warhorse Studios: Do old saves not work with new patches at all?
This needs to be addressed. Some of us fans are putting heavy hours into this game. I have 190 hours currently. The last thing I want to do is start over so I can enjoy the latest fixes and features.

Will Warhorse ever make old saves compatible with new updates? If not this is really going to hurt us badly...

You're going to want to set your game to not update automatically. 1.3 and 1.4 are large patches that break save games. Your save might seem like it's working, but you will have bugs.

Old saves ARE compatible with new patches (unless there is a bug like with 1.4, fixed in 1.41), however, not every fix can be retroactive (means: can not correct every issue which is already present in your save game). This is, however, how like 90% of the games work, actually because there is not really a way arround it unless the game is very linear. There is not a "incompatibility" in form of "you get new bugs because you are using old savegames", at least not yet and if you were able to play 190 hours without major issues, you probably can play that savegame for the next few years ;)

Thanks for the reply! Makes good sense. Seems like these days since games ship incomplete or super buggy it is probably just better to wait for games to be on sale and 100% complete or until devs abandon it, to play.

Old save works fine for me, so I asume it compatiable.

I had to start over because of an issue of my main quest failing when I tried to continue. My husband kept playing because he hasn't been forced to (yet). I suspect the best thing to do is start a fresh game.

I was nearing max level and everything in my original playthrough, but I'm having a lot of fun in my new adventure, so I don't really mind.

I started a new game with 4.1, despite being 180 hours in. This game is worth it, I'm really enjoying a fresh play through.

+1 Great attutude. A refreshing perspective regarding gaming NOT being the center of the universe. I happen to share this sentiment.

I know I'll take a few shots for this reply - fire when ready.

I can fire :)

In my opinion; if someone thinks not wanting to start over after 190 hours of gameplay is considered "gaming being the center of one's life", then you are probably not understanding. Instead it is actually quite the opposite (Maybe I want to finish this game so I can get back to real life lol).

Let me put it this way. You go to the movies to watch Lord of the Rings. Then near the end of the movie the projectionist comes down and says, "ok folks we're gonna have to start the movie over about 4 or 5 times aproximately. If you want to see the end of the film you might have to wait a couple months or up to a year maybe more. Sorry for the inconvinience."

At this point at 190 hours in I just want to see the end and what happens in the plot without having to start over and possibly get bored doing the same things I have already done before. I'm not saying you're wrong but what I do think is wrong is making accusations without trying to see it from other people's perspectives.

Make sense? If not I applaud the trolling! ;)

Keevs - Good points and I do understand. I wasn't making any accusation, just an observation. We're all looking for different things and that's okay. Cheers.
