Ken et al give a short term early lead in one stat or skill, with a permanent limit to another. Later in the game this gives a lower total build than if no specialisation was taken, and a bit more time was allowed to develop skills and strengths.
So please choose Sprinter but pick it in the mid to late game so your stamina won't run out too quick.
Aren't they all actually equivalent distances?
If you run 20% faster, given the same time, you also run 20% farther.
Distance is Speed x Time and the time traveled is 1/(Stamina usage), which becomes Speed x 1/(Stamina usage).
Normal: 100% x (1/100%)) = 100%
Sprinter: 120% x (1/120%) = 100%
Marathon: 80% x (1/80%) = 100%
In all cases, you use the same amount of stamina to travel the same distance.
Which mean Sprinter is a bonus, because you travel the same distance but in less time, and Marathon Man is actually a penalty because you travel the same distance in more time.
you never need marathon to run long distances, you have the horse for that
