Thick as Thieves Waffenrock Issue

I stole these waffenrocks trying to get out of the city in the beginning, got caught, sent to jail, now there is nothing in the chest when i try to do this quest. KINDA ANNOYTHING. any ideas on fixes???

i mean like in the beginning of the game, aned they caught me, meaning i didn't get to keep the stuff, now like 40 hours later when i go back to steal the stuff for the quest, the waffenrocks are not there. like you'd think they would put them back?

I thought the stuff you need to escape is in another chest than the quest? I never stole the stuff before the quest... anyone else having this problem?

no the stuff i need for the thick of thievs quest is gone because i tried to steal them way back in the beginning when trying to esacpe the castle, i got caught, served jail time, kicked out of the castle, but NOW 40 hours later when i go back to do the thick as thieves quest, the waffenrocks are not there. so like, basically, even if you steal stuff ang get caught the items don't return to where you stole them ever.

When I got caught by a guard from stealing the guard keeps the stuff on him. So try to do some pickpocked on the guard if you know who it was...

The waffenrocks for this quest don't exist when you first arrive in Talmberg. It's not possible to steal them early. They're not equippable gear but a special quest item.

They're in the bottom room, not the room where you usually steal the armor.

You're looking in the wrong chest. The waffenrocks don't spawn in that chest until you are given the quest so there's no possiblilty of stealing them early and losing them to a guard.

I just did that quest and they are a quest item so you have no control over it just like the sword pieces and other such quest items. Guards should not be able to take quest items. Maybe I am wrong but someone else could explain it better than I.

Somewhat related. 1 thing I am unsure about is a quest something like take from rich give to poor alms. The guy is locked up by his head and hands thing in the center of Rattay and when you try to give him his last quest item and he can't take it and says go sell it to a miller but no miller has the option to buy that quest item and ii is a quest items just like cumen and bandit ears so who am I suppose to sell it so it will be removed from my inventory? Just wondering?

One other thing to note. Like you I was doing a different quest and came upon 2 quest keys to that door and chest so I already had those keys before doing that quest. Yet when I did that quest from the miller even though I already had those keys the game acted like I needed to get them and showed me where to get them and where the chest was to get the waffenrocks so I went and got them with no problems. Just remember sometimes the game has a glitch or bug.

In my rich to poor quest last item when I tried to give it to him when he was locked into that stockade and he tells me he can't pay me so sell it to a miller I then looked into my inventory and somehow that game screwed up and I lost every quest item I had in my inventory. Like 4 sword pieces for sheba sword quest and those 2 keys, and ears and quest items so I knew that sucked big and must of been a bug so I reloaded the save before all that and tried it again and at least it worked and I had all my quest items so was happy. Just for your info.

There could be some confusion around the fact that the tower has three floors and the Waffenroecke are in a chest on the bottom floor.
