Blocky smoke and flame animation

Every time I start a a game, regardless of the graphics setting, all the flame and smoke animations look like solid squares. If I change the graphic setting at any point though everything reverts to normal. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Try installing it on your pc instead of your atari 2600 But on a serious note, nope not had this problem?

I've noticed an issue with the graphcs settings, right from gamma to textures. There seems to be a bug with the settngs. I didn't notice this much up until 1.4.1- when my ultra /very high settings suddenly appeared to render as 'minecraft' settings in game.

It's as though the settings have been nerfed beyond our control.

The gamma slider has been a well known issue and I'm starting to see other reports of graphics settings not responding to what they are set as. No doubt Warhorse will be aware, thanks to feedback and bug reports.

IIt's less of a bug, and more of an issue with loading times.

this just started happening to me today. its also the first time i tried playing since installing Nvidia's newest driver

I've been noticing this too and figured I'd necro this than start a new thread. I can run everything else on high+ and get a nice 50+ frames, usually hair under 60, but whenever I load in the game smoke is all blocky. So i just swap a slider on anything practically and confirm, it'll redo and everything looks fine. Until I log/quit out and have to start the game anew, then it happens all over again.

Verify the game files integrity and then check results. Then, if the artifacts still there try uninstalling the game (also deleting manually any remaining game folder) and performing a clean game installation. Anyway before playing make sure your OS and rig is in goog heath and properly tweaked.

A little late, but nowdays it happens for me, too.
But here is a little fix-arround.
Start your game normaly like you ever do and inside the main menu screen,
you'll seen the blocky smokes fromes the chimneys.
All you've to do is:
-> goto "Setups"
-> "Graphics"
-> deactivate the "HD"-Mode
-> confirm
and after loading, reactivate and confim

Works for me perfectly, but duno why, and why this was happens
after so long playing this masterpiece

Is your KDC by chance installed on a spindle Harddrive and not on an SSD or M2?

I had this issue when I played this game back when it was released. My husband bought me a new gaming computer and it fixed the problem.
