High Disk Usage Causing Hangs

I made a post a few days ago detailing some issues I was having with the game. I have since come to find that all of my problems are caused by this game's abnormally high disk usage. During play, the game will peak at anywhere from 75-90% disk usage, and I believe the hangs I'm experiencing are caused when it spikes up to 100% usage. I have the game installed on a 7200RPM HDD, but this drive has been adequate for literally every other game I've ever installed on it. I'm inclined to blame this particular game rather than the drive.

Does anyone know of any steps I can take to mitigate this issue? I've played about 37 hours of this game, and I feel like a third of that has been spent watching a spinning cursor over a frozen game.

Hi Techno, I'm having the exact same problem. High disk usage. Not only my disk, but also my memory (16GB) is used fully most of the time. Does sombody have a fix for this? :/

Forgive me for not thinking I'd need a mod to fix someone's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization. Under no circumstances should any game read that much data from the hard drive *constantly.*

Yeah I've been having similar issues, the last patch fixed some of the streaming problems but it still happens quite often. Surprised a mod fixes it but we haven't had it patched yet. I just noticed my game updated so I'll give it a go in a few and see if that helped.

For anyone else having the same issue, moving the game to my SSD helped temendously. I realize not everyone has one, but it certainly helps. I'd rather not use that much space on my small drive for one game, though.

Cryengine for ya. if you think this game is bad wait till you try Star Citizen omg. Talk about engine not fit for purpose.

Yeah Star Citizen is something else for sure. It streams textures constantly depending on how far you are from things and its just really annoying. I don't have this issue but I know what you're talking about because of Star Citizen. Pretty sures its just the engine Im not sure what can be done, thats why star citizen stopped using Cry.

I highly reccomend you wait before spending your money on it. The terribly boring Alpha. I mean the game play is just bad, third rate FPS indie game bad. Everything from the combat to the flight model is yuck.

The bugs you can live with due to the Alpha state of course. However one would have thought the bugs would be thinning by now, they are not. Many of the bugs reported for Kingdom Come are already in SC PTU. Gotta love the Cry Engine.

At first the solution Wrinkly mentioned worked. I used the mod to ajust my Vram etc. After playing for 13h I decided to add the recticly for the bow in de user file. After doing this te game started freaking out again and the graphics and fps are terrible.

I refreshed the whole file, no luck. Any other suggestions?
