What is that weird noise that occurs randomly and sounds like a steam train whistling its pipe?

I think I know what you are talking about. I hear it usually at dusk. No clue on the source. I also hear rangom dogs in the distance... even when I am in the middle of the forest...

Is it any bird calls, certain birds have been known to be wiped out because of their calls.

Right well the level up sound is just some clanking hand symbols or bells, then there is one bird call with a single chirp at night, and then one that sounds like a recorder flute which must be it.

It happens when I ride my horse. Reloading save or respawning horse via whistling, gets rid of it.
