HOW DO I SKIP LOCKPICKING
It's a disgusting mechanic that is so frustrating it makes me want to delete the game and never play it again. I get what the developers were going for, but there's nothing realistic about loading a save game 50 times to open a series of locks successfully.

It's just a horrible design choice.

Is there an option to skip the mini game altogeather so I never have to touch those that horrible fiddly rotating mechanism ever again, or should I just proceed to uninstalling and advising everyone I know to avoid this title at all costs for the sake of the wellbeing of everyone in their families?

Seriously, I've never been so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off by a minigame before - I might kill someone

git gud..

jk.. maybe it's easier with a controller? I think this game was made with console in mind? can't you just plug in a controller.. knock out the Lp and be done with it?

If you're playing on PC avoid using a controller, I've heard it's pretty difficult to lockpick with it. It's very easy to lockpick if you just use keyboard+mouse instead.
for lock picking i just put down my controller and use mouse and keyboard. with a mouse its actually simple.

I've tried both, the whole experience just feels inconsistant. When I finally get it there's no sense of reward at all because I just end up wondering why it worked that time over the 30 previous attempts...

You should level lockpicking up and spend some skillpoints in it, so that lockpicking becomes easier. Also, there's a locked chest behind "your" house which resets after you've lockpicked it. You should practice there.

Are you trying to lockpick hard locks at a low skill level? I had trouble in the beginning but as soon as I leveled a bit I haven't failed an easy lock for a long time. The chest behind the mill can give you some levels to get you started.

I'm using KB and mouse, btw.
You just got to git gud. I used to suck at it and now even on a level 1 henry in skallitz I can open easy chests without breaking a pick.

Just wait it becomes easier.
Later on you can take a pick that let you unlock easy lock without doing the lockpicking itself.

There is a mod which makes it easier by adding sectors and there is a mod that skips it completely

IIt might not be much, but there is a potion that can help with lock picking Padfoot potion. You can find the recipee and and the potion from a herbailist Somewhat north of Ledetchko. The potion gives like +5 to lockpicking, and pickpocketing.

I think the biggest problem with lockpicking is that they break way too easy when you are just starting out and don't have any skill points. You end up breaking all your picks and just saying ♥♥♥♥ it, this sucks.

Pickpocketing can be similary annoying. I used the padfoot potion mainly for that as i always found leveling pickpocketing to be just to random a chance at the first few levels.
