I may just look up the fastest way to get through it.
Don't enter the monastry as a monk sneak in read the book at the abbots room about the novices. Kill Pius silently and sneak out with the dice.
That said, I absolutely dread having to do this quest line again.
Handling the chores and doing your mission is easily manageable. This quest is all about patience. I went about talked to everyone finding out any hidden quests, and left Pious questions till last.
When discovered about Abbot's Book that's when I figured it's time to wrap things up.
Nice and easy. Slow and steady. I do with there were guards or patrols that happened. Even if it was every hour. The main thing it lacked were night circators.
My Stats (Strength, Agility, Speech, etc) were all about 10+ by now which I'm guessing helped. And the second night at the monastery I discovered the dice and drinking. I joined them, which I'm guessing why I never got punished.
