To get the xp you just have to open it. except skill books where you have to skip time to read them
Note it is pretty easy to break into the monastery library. Just go through the overseers office and follow the doors until you're there. If you go in at night it should be pretty clear.
Past that, you really are just going to need to acquire books, often which you just need to purchase.
Reading treasure maps also gives reading XP and I went over the level threshold a couple times thanks to those. And they are pretty cheap (the ones from wayfarers) and pay you back several fold if you find the location.
Not sure about reading the murals in churches. Many are props to backers, but it does say "[E] Read" and there are several per church.
"Reading" remedy recipes doesn't seem to do much that I have found.
The fastest way to learn how to read is to visit the Apothecary in Rattay. Once there speak with the trader inside and ask him if he knows anyone that can teach you to read.
Beside the initial "learn to read" segment, I think you're just on your own.
Those are Primer I-III (and maybe IV but I don't have it) and that's a good point. Reading books about reading in comfy bed will help much initially. I forgot about those.
Ah, cool. And more descriptive.
I actually use the German sound track for the game, with the UI & subtitles in English.
But: (a) no one says the book names aloud; (b) it wouldn't matter if they did because I wouldn't understand, heh.
Also I thought comfort only influenced how fast you study the book not the amount of reading XP you get.
Can someone confirm this?
